Artificial Plants are a more Cost Effective Approach
Real plants inevitably come with a larger cost attached. Some may be cheaper to buy up front but will require ongoing tending to that always comes with a price tag. Real plants die and need to be replaced and may require increasingly bigger pots as they grow. Plus, a real plant may arrive as a seedling that takes years to reach its full height to have the impact that you want. Artificial plants arrive fully mature with only the upfront cost to pay.

Considerably reduced maintenance
As well as the ongoing tending that real plants require – pruning, watering, fertilisers etc – the plant may also need to be moved to ensure adequate sunlight, water or draining. Changes in temperature could be problematic and you may periodically need a specialist to come in and tend to your plants. Artificial plants are very different – if you opt for a low-quality product then you may have to move them out of the sunlight to stop fade but other than that it's really only necessary to wipe the leaves down occasionally if they start to gather dust. Good quality artificial flowers will be suited to both indoor and outdoor use.

If you don't have the right environment or space for the plants that you're looking for then you may find your options severely restricted with real greenery. Tropical blooms, for example, may need sunlight or a humid atmosphere that you just can't provide. And let's face it, there's no aesthetic appeal in having plants not looking their best. This isn't the case with artificial plants – you can create exactly the aesthetic you want with no limitations. Plus, the range of artificial plants is so broad today that you'll have a huge amount of choice when it comes to your options.

Real plants do often provide filtration when it comes to the air that we breathe and artificial plants won't do that. However, research has found that in terms of wellbeing benefits such as improving mood and morale, as well as productivity and focus, artificial plants really work. Humans have a strong connection with greenery and so the presence of foliage in an environment, whether that be real flowers or faux plants, can make a real difference to how you feel.

Avoiding issues with allergies
Real plants can be the source of a lot of issues for humans sharing the same space. For example, they can trigger allergies and certain plants may even be responsible for poisoning if they are touched or consumed by children or pets. Artificial plants don't come with any of these problems and there's no need to worry about pollen, which is the source of allergies for 12+ million people in the UK alone.
